Today, Mike Johnson, Country Music’s No.1 Black Yodeler, celebrates his 65th Birthday.

In April 2005, Johnson, the singing, songwriting yodeler began performing for the first time since the November 2003 Cervical Spinal Cord Injury that ended his trucking career. One of those performances was a recent trip to NYC on 7 May 2005 to participate in author Bart Plantenga’s Yodel Lecture at the Bowery Poerty Club, along with yodelers Randy Erwin and Lynn Book. Mike will also be featured in Bart’s followup book on Yodeling History entitled YODELIN’ IN HI-FI and on a 3 CD Yodeling Compilation by a Netherlands record label.
